Many education programs train learners towards being in a profession. This process involves learning knowledge and skills, but it also consists in developing professionalism. Learning professionalism is a different process of learning that involves the evolution of one’s personal identity along with the ethics of the profession.
Leadership is influence. That leads to the question of how one develops influence. Being knowledgeable and competent is one aspect that promotes influence, but there are other factors that increase one’s influence and leadership. Education programs seek to teach leadership should be heedful of the wholistic set off factors around leadership development.
Education aims to prepare learners to be positive contributors to society. Learners need knowledge and skills, but education programs also need to develop character in learners to wield the knowledge and skills properly towards desirable ends.
